Mas Isabelle

Mas Isabelle is the product of a long history, and of the history of a woman who is the (proud) representative of twelve generations of wine growers and who wanted to come back on her ancestral land. Growing up among vineyards and raised in the wine culture from her earliest childhood, Isabelle longed to go back to her origins.

Her passionate story began in 2003. Her passion for wine making was born out of a complicity with her father, for whom she has an immense admiration and out of a complicity with her mother, who is the inheritor of this historical vineyard and represents the 11 th generation of owners.

This passion also comes from her love for this unique village, its hundred-year-old plane trees, its garrigue, its hills, its small valleys and the Sainte-Baume cave and hermitage which overlook the vineyard and seem to be watching over it since the vines were first planted. This site is magical and wild, and though man has left his mark on this landscape, he has done it discretely and lovingly.

The vineyard is planted with hundred-year- old Grenaches, Carignan, Syrahs, Cinsaults … It is cultivated by a woman attached to environmentally friendly farming practices and to the solidarity of her fellow wine-growers.

Mas Isabelle extends over 17 hectares in Lirac (Gard Rhodanien, near Avignon, in the South of France), but to this day, only a few hectares, representing the best part of the domain, are devoted to her special reserve.

Isabelle carefully chooses her best parcels in order to extract from their vines the nectar which will make this special reserve “Grand Roc” the “leading special reserve” of her domain, as she uses to say !

Isabelle gives a special attention to the selection of low-yield parcels, to the exclusively manual selective picking and to a classical wine-making which is as respectful of natural processes as possible.

The first cuvée (vintage 2009) of the Mas Isabelle has arrived. A powerful wine with great concentration and magnificient elegance and finesse.

The vintage 2010 and then in 2011 the first cuvée of LIRAC Rosé "Hommage" to her father will follow.
